Costume Details

1920s Henley Regatta or even walking along the promenade at Cannes, you wouldn’t look out of place in this colourful blazer outfit.

The Ensemble– consists of a stripe blazer, single breasted waistcoat, cream flannel trousers, white cotton shirt, silk cravat in a colour of your choosing and a straw boater.

The Blazer - is a bold stripe, single breasted with three buttons and has a small notch style collar. It is made in the original University Club style which means it isn’t lined so a much lighter weight to wear

The Waistcoat - is also single breasted similar to the blazer. It is a pale cream wool fabric that gives a nice contrast to the bold stripes of the blazer.

The Trousers – are a pale cream colour with two pleats at the front and turn ups. In the early 1920s the cricketers of the day changed from wearing top hats, high collars and heavy wool trousers to what was then known as ‘ideal fashion’ which would have been easy fitting flannel trousers and ‘billowing shirts’. This style of outfit then became popular with the young sporting/fashion conscious of the time.

The Shirts – is a white cotton shirt with a small point style collar, that nestles around the cravat neatly..

The Hat – is a straw boater with either a ribbon. Every well-dressed gentleman wore a hat in the 1920s and to go with the club blazer a boater was a popular choice.

The Cravat -is made from silk/cotton. They come in various colours and patterns just choose the background colour of your choice.

The Fabric – The blazer is made from wool/cotton, the flannels are made from a cotton/wool mix, the shirt is cotton, the cravat is silk/cotton and the boater a good quality straw and the waistcoat is a wool fabric..
