Conditions of Hire

1.    It is assumed you have read, understood and abide to the listed conditions of hire on completing an online booking of a costume(s).


3.    All costumes remain the property of JEFORY LTD (COSTUME HIRE DIRECT.CO.UK is an online trading name of JEFORY LTD).

4.    Only MasterCard, Visa Credit Card, Visa Delta card, Maestro and Solo credit cards are accepted as deposits and payments.

5.    The named hirer has the sole responsibility for the costume(s) from the time of collection/delivery until the time the costume(s) are received by Costume Hire Direct.

6.    Costumes are checked on return and any damage will be notified to the hirer within 5 working days of return.

7.    COSTUME HIRE DIRECT accepts no responsibility for garments that are later considered not to be suitable or ill fitting, no refund of the hire fee will be given if the costume(s) provided are sized to the measurements provided.

8.    Customers must wear underwear whilst wearing our costumes.

9.    Customers should check their costume thoroughly on the day of receipt and advise COSTUME HIRE DIRECT of any damage, marks, or items missing.  Any damage not reported on the day of delivery will be charged to the hirer.

10.    The hirer is liable for the cost of loss or damage to a costume, incurred during the hire period – at replacement value.

11.    Footwear is worn at the customers own risk.

12.    Costumes must be returned by the day specified on the hire agreement.

13.    The start date of hire is the despatch date which is the first date on the hire agreement and the date of return to Costume Hire Direct is the return date specified in the hire agreement.

14.    The costume(s) must arrive back at the premises of COSTUME HIRE DIRECT within 7 days of the collection/despatch date stated on the hire agreement.

15.    For costume(s) not returned by the agreed return date will be charged in the first 7 days at a rate of 1/7th total hire cost per day.  If a costume(s) remains outstanding more than 7 days but less than 14 days, a charge of 2/7ths of the total hire cost will be charged for every day of this 7 day period.

16.    If after three weeks the costume(s) has still not been returned it will be deemed lost and the hirer will be invoiced accordingly for the replacement of the costume.

17.    Customers who do not return costume(s) (for whatever reason) will be prosecuted.

18.    If a costume has been booked and subsequently damaged by a previous hirer before your hire date, we will offer a comparable replacement.

19.    We try to take great care in getting as accurate a photograph as possible to the garments online, but some colour variance may occur.

20.    Cost of hire will not be refunded by COSTUME HIRE DIRECT if loss or delay is caused by the courier company.  

21.    If the customer elects and pays for the re-collection service, then fails to have the costume(s) ready for collection on the designated day, they will be liable for a miss collection fee and any other subsequent fees for recollection.

22.    We take reasonable care to protect the confidentiality of your payment card details but COSTUME HIRE DIRECT is not liable if these details are intercepted by and used by third parties through no fault of our own.

23.    Goods lost in transit from customers who have elected to send the costume(s) back to COSTUME HIRE DIRECT using their own means are the responsibility of the hirer.
